The Muhammad Yunus is seen as an inspirational model throughout the world.  Today (January 28, 2008), Rashidul Bari spent an honour with the man(Muhammad Yunus) whom many regard as one of the greatest visionary of 21st centuary.

                                                       Letter to BA for Obama

Today I had a grand privilege to spend the most inspiring one hour of my life with his holiness the Muhammad Yunus at JFK.

I have arrived at the JFK at 1.00 am to meet with a man everyone (that includes head of the state) always wanted to meet.  

As soon as I got into the premises, I saw a florist shop. I bought one bouquet of roses for Muhammad Yunus, who came to New York yesterday and addressed the thousands of students of Columbia University. I have been waiting in front of Swiss Airways for Yunus.

Muhammad Yunus arrived at JFK at 2.00 pm along with the members of Grameen America including Mr. Vidor Jorgenson. A few minutes later, he said farewell to everyone but me. He went to the lounge upon receiving the boarding pass. I followed him the way James Boswell used to follow Samuel Johnson.

I am more than satisfied with the genius. However, Yunus is not only the genius, but he is also an honest man—he is a Saint. Sir Winston Churchill said, “It’s not possible to find a man who is a genius and honest at the same time”. After talking with Yunus for an hour, I proclaimed, Sir Weinstein Churchill was wrong.

I was so impressed that I unleashed my thoughts, “A great man is a man who can get himself made into something great, and who will get himself made out of anything he finds at hand. Yunus is a great man” However, the good thing is that he never thought of himself as such.

"It has been a privilege to be able to spend time with Muhammad Yunus, it was the most inspiring one hour with his holiness the Muhammad Yunus" I whispered.
